    Welcome to the Richmond Technical Center!

    N. Mauricee Holmes

    Principal's Message

    Greetings from the Richmond Technical Center where creative, dedicated, and outstanding staff members encourage students to strive for excellence and prepare for the workplace. Our unique center serves the Richmond area high school students who attend classes during the day and the Richmond area adults interested in enhancing their careers or starting new careers who attend classes in the evenings.

    We are educators who swell with pride because of the numerous student successes, strong relationships with the business community, and top-ranked career and technical programs we offer our students. We are committed to providing realistic, cutting-edge and diverse educational opportunities for all students attending our center.

    When a student enrolls in our school, we meticulously match each student's skills and interests with our programs through career guidance and assessments. We nurture and help students to

    •master skills to become marketable and successful in their specific careers;
    •participate in youth work based learning, school-to-career, leadership and entrepreneurship programs;
    •develop soft skills by participating in mock job interviews, career fairs, and student organization leadership and competitive events; and
    •participate in business and community projects.

    Our goal is to have all students to complete with distinction the required competencies in their specific career track, to pursue post-secondary training or a degree, to enter the job market, and/or to establish their own business.

    Our students are able to accomplish their respective goals with the continued commitment from businesses and the community. Our parents, the advisory council, mentors, partners, and scholarship grantors have been vital to the success of the Richmond Technical Center, and we are encouraged by the continued dedication from these entities. We are proud to say that the Richmond Technical Center has educated students who have met the needs of the job market and will continue to provide productive employees for the workplace.

    Remember, the Richmond Technical Center is here for the community.
    We are the school of hope, commitment, and dedication.
